Used in conjunction with the damaru by Tibet Buddhist Priests. The dril-bu is held in the left hand and the damaru is held in the right. Also played with do-rje in Buddhist ceremonies. In addition to Tantric Buddhism came into the world, it became one of the main religious ceremonial instruments in the Indian subcontinent. It was also transmitted to China and Japan.
