Perforated coins are strung onto strings which are attached to the inside of the bamboo tubes. Cloth or the like is wrapped around the outside of the tube as a decoration. In the zenidaiko odori(a dance using zenidaiko), the dancer holds one of these instruments in each hand, and shakes and hits them together.
