A jew's harp of which one end of the lamella is fixed to the middle of a metal frame and the other end is bent at a right angle. The instrument is held horizontally between the upper and lower teeth. A sound is produced by plucking the tip of the lamella with a finger (usually the index finger). By adjusting the shape of the oral cavity and changing breathing, the player can modulate overtones and play a melody.
