( JPEG format )A double clarinet comprised of two lengths of reed pipe. One pipe is approximately 30 cm in length and is used for playing the melody, while the other plays a drone. Two removable pieces of reed are attached to the drone pipe. A vibrating reed is made by cutting a U-shaped incision into the thin reed. The player inserts the entire reed section into his mouth and plays by means of a circular breathing technique. Used for festive dances and folk song accompaniment.
