The body is a double-headed barrel shape with a rounded middle, and is cut from a single piece of wood. The large drumhead is tied onto the body with a ring of interlaced leather cords. The small drumhead is sewn onto a round wooden frame which has a diameter larger than that of the body. Both membranes are tuned by means of tension cords. Used for accompaniment of song, folk dance, folk theater and modern public theatre.
