?The Faculty of Fine Arts aims to foster genuine creativity, a facet that has developed through the long-standing traditions of the University, and cultivate highly original individuals who can respond to the demands of a new era. The Faculty has established a curriculum that places maximum emphasis on the characteristics of each department, however, all departments share the common goals outlined below.

Students must aim to:

?Acquire basic knowledge, theory, and skills directly relating to art and utilize these as a foundation for more advanced study (basic specialized subjects).
?Acquire advanced knowledge, theory, and skills in a major field of study to become an expert in that field (specialized subjects).
?Develop artistic, historical, international, and social perspectives and the ability to understand humanity and culture as a whole (cultural subjects).
?Build the physical and mental health required for the pursuit of creative work and research (health and physical education subjects).
?Acquire the language skills required for international exchange in the interpersonal and intellectual domains (foreign language subjects).
?Broaden basic perspectives on art and crafts through field observations of antique art (for example, in the Kinki region) and apply them to individual research.
?Compile the knowledge gained and present results (graduation production / thesis).

Master’s Program

?The Master’s Program at the Graduate School of Fine Arts aims to cultivate individuals with a broad range of expertise who understand art from a wide perspective. The Graduate School has established a curriculum that places maximum emphasis on the characteristics of each department; however, all departments share the common goals outlined below.

Students in the Master’s Program:

Acquire more advanced knowledge, theory, and skills corresponding to each department (required elective subjects, elective subjects, special lectures, seminars, etc.)
Compile creative work and research as outlined above and present a Master’s production, Master’s thesis, or both.
