On September 29th, the results of the “2012 Geidai Art Student Summit–Yokohama Art Story” were announced at an event held in the Bashamichi Building of the Graduate School of Film and New Media at the Tokyo University of the Arts Yokohama Campus.
The “2012 Geidai Art Student Summit–Yokohama Art Story” is a joint production project centered on the cities of Yokohama, Quanzhou, and Gwangju, involving university students and young researchers from China, Japan, and Korea, studying in the fields of fine arts, music, and film.
The Results Announcement Ceremony was attended by President Miyata and a large number of guests, including the Deputy Mayor of Yokohama. Participants displayed their works of art, gave performances, and discussed the culture and art of their respective countries, deepening understanding, and engaging in cultural exchange. The works of art that were completed as part of the exchange project were presented to Yokohama City.
In the second half of the event, the students and researchers who participated in the summit discussed what they had gained through the exchange project and shared ideas for future projects. Many opinions were offered and the event was considered a huge success.
